S3 safety footwear
Footwear in safety class S3 is approved according to the EN ISO 20345 European standard. Safety class S3 stands for footwear that offers complete safety because it features both nail protection and toe caps and is either water-repellent or waterproof. This means that safety shoes and boots in this safety class are particularly suitable for those working in e.g. heavy construction or heavy industry.

Safety footwear for harsh environments
If you work on hard concrete floors, gravel or other uneven surfaces, you should choose footwear in safety class S3. Safety footwear in safety class S3 is particularly suitable for harsh environments. Furthermore, this safety class requires the footwear to be either water-repellent or waterproof. This footwear is therefore ideal for anyone working outside all year round.
In addition to toe caps, nail protection and anti-static properties, S3 safety footwear also features anti-slip and oil and petrol resistant soles, preventing any risk of slipping.
Sturdy materials
Most of the S3 products from MASCOT have a leather upper. Leather is a particularly durable material that is also easy to keep clean and free from e.g. oil stains. The MASCOT® FOOTWEAR INDUSTRY range offers a wide selection of leather safety footwear. The safety footwear in this range also features a very durable sole, where the sole pattern is designed to stop dirt and soil from sticking.
The toe of the footwear is often particularly exposed if you work in a kneeling position for most of the day. If this is the case, it is recommended that you choose footwear with toe reinforcement. Toe reinforcement is a special reinforcement of the front part of the footwear, which protects the upper from wear and tear, thus ensuring the footwear lasts longer.
Safety and optimum comfort all day long
Flexibility is often the first thing you check when buying new safety footwear. And flexibility in the front part of the footwear is essential for good walking comfort. However, a stable middle part is equally important. Especially if you work on uneven terrain, so that you avoid twisting your foot. MASCOT uses soles and materials that support the footwear's flexibility. MASCOT also uses a multi-function shank in a number of its footwear products, which not only stabilises the footwear, but also features a shock absorbing core. All of which results in optimum comfort.
If you work on a ladder or scaffolding, we recommend choosing safety footwear with ladder grip. This ensures stability and a firm foothold. The MASCOT® FOOTWEAR INDUSTRY range includes footwear with ladder grip.
Laces, Boa® Fit System or hook and loop fastening
Many of those who wear safety footwear prefer the innovative BOA® Fit System. The dial and the lightweight - but extremely strong - laces help you fasten your footwear easily and quickly. The fit is easily adjusted using the dial, while a gentle lift loosens the laces.
If you choose traditional laces or a hook and loop fastening, you avoid any metal in your fastening solution. This is important if you do not want the metal to lead heat or cold to your feet. If you work in very warm or cold surroundings, choose safety footwear without metal.
