Privacy Policy

Data protection declaration

We are delighted by your interest in our online shop. The protection of your personal privacy is very important to us. You will find detailed information below as to how we process your data.

1. Access data and hosting

You can visit our websites without giving out any information about your person. Each time you call up a website, the web server merely automatically saves a so-called server log file, which, for example, contains the name of the requested file, your IP address, the date and time of the call-up, the amount of data transferred, and the requesting provider (access data), and which documents the call-up.

This access information is solely evaluated for the purposes of ensuring the smooth operation of the site as well as the improvement of our range. This serves to safeguard our legitimate interests, which are predominant within the scope of a balancing of interests, in the correct representation of our range. All access data are deleted seven days after the end of your visit to the site at the latest.

Hosting services from third-party providers
Within the scope of an outsourced processing procedure, a third-party provider provides us the services for hosting and representing our website. This serves to safeguard our legitimate interests, which are predominant within the scope of a balancing of interests, in the correct representation of our range. All data collected as described below within the scope of the use of this website or in forms provided for this in the online shop are processed on its servers. A processing procedure on other servers only takes place within the scope explained herein.

This service provider is headquartered within a country of the European Union or the European Economic Area.

2. Data collection and use for the execution of the contract and upon opening a customer account

We collect personal data if you voluntarily provide us with such data as part of your order, when getting in touch with us (for example, via contact form or email), or when opening a customer account. Obligatory fields are marked as such as we require this information in these cases in order to execute the contract and/or in order to process your contact with us, or in order to open your customer account, and we cannot conclude the order and/or open the account without this data, or remain in touch with you. The data collected is visible from the respective input form. We use data provided by you to execute the contract and process your queries. Following the complete execution of the contract or deletion of your customer account, your information is limited for further processing and deleted following the expiry of the fiscal and commercial retention periods, insofar as you have not expressly consented to another use of your information or we have not reserved an additional use of data which is permitted under law and regarding which we will inform you about in this statement. The deletion of your customer account is possible at any time and can be arranged either by sending a message to ecommerce@mascot.dk or using a function provided for this purpose within the customer account.

3. Data transfer

So that we can fulfil the contract with you, we forward your data to the shipping companies contracted for delivery, insofar as this is required for the delivery of the ordered goods. Depending on the payment provider you select during the ordering process, we provide the payment information collected for payment processing to the credit institute contracted for payment and, if necessary, to the payment services providers contracted by us, or to the selected payment service. In part, the selected payment services providers also collect this information themselves, whenever you create an account with them. In such cases, you must login with the payment service provider using your access data during the order process. The data protection declaration of the relevant payment services provider will then apply.

Data transfer to shipping service providers
Provided that you have granted us your express permission to do so during or after your order, we will then forward your email address and phone number to the selected shipping service provider so that they can get in touch with you before delivery in order to send you delivery notification and make arrangements for delivery.

Your consent for this can be withdrawn at any time by sending a message to one of the contact options provided below or by directly contacting the shipping service provider at the contact address listed below. Following cancellation, we will delete the data that you have provided for this purpose, insofar as you have not expressly consented to another use of your information or we have not reserved an additional use of data which is permitted under law and regarding which we will inform you about in this statement.

4. Email newsletter

Email advertisement with newsletter subscription
If you subscribe to our newsletter, we will use the information required for this or specifically provided by you in order to regularly send you our email newsletter based on your consent.

You can cancel your newsletter subscription at any time, either by sending us a message using the contact options below or by using a link provided for this purpose within the newsletter. Following cancellation of your subscription, we will delete the data that you have provided for this purpose, insofar as you have not expressly consented to another use of your information or we have not reserved an additional use of data which is permitted under law and which we will inform you about in the statement.

Email advertisement without subscription to the newsletter and your right to objection
If we receive your email address in connection with the sale of a good or service and you have not objected to this, we reserve the right to regularly send you offers via email regarding products in our range that are similar to those already purchased. This serves to safeguard our legitimate interests, which are predominant within the scope of a balancing of interests, in a commercial address to our customers.
You can object to this use of your email address at any time by sending us a message using the contact options below or by using a link provided for this purpose within the advertising email, without incurring any transfer costs in addition to the basic rates.

The newsletter is sent by a service provider to whom we forward your email address within the scope of a processing procedure on our behalf.

This service provider is headquartered in the USA and is certified under the EU-US Privacy Shield. A current certificate can be viewed here. Based on this agreement between the USA and the European Commission, the latter has recently determined that companies certified under the Privacy Shield have an appropriate level of data protection.

Static collection and analyses

The newsletters contain a so-called “web beacon”, i.e. a pixel-sized file which is called-up when opening the newsletters from the MailChimp server. Within the scope of this call-up, general technical information, such as information on the browser and its system, as well as your IP address and the time of the call-up, is collected. This information is used for the technical improvement of the services using the technical data or target groups and their reading behavior via their call-up location (which can be defined with the help of the IP address) or the access times.

Statistical data collected also includes information on whether or not the newsletters are opened, when they are opened, and which links are clicked on. This information may, for technical reasons, even be assigned to the individual newsletter recipients. It is, however, neither our intention nor the intention of MailChimp to observe individual users. Rather, these evaluations serve to help us recognize the reading habits of our users and to adjust our content to them or to send our users different content in accordance with their interests.

In order to make the visit to our website attractive, enable the use of certain functions, display suitable products and facilitate market research, we use so-called Cookies on various pages. This website, through its application of Google Analytics (see below), also uses the so-called DoubleClick Cookie, which enables the recognition of your browser when visiting other websites. This serves to safeguard our legitimate interests, which are predominant within the scope of a balancing of interests, in the optimum marketing of our website. The information automatically collected by the cookie regarding your visit to this website is then transferred to a Google server in the USA and stored there. The IP address is abbreviated via activation of the IP anonymization on this website before the transfer, within the member states of the European Union or in other contracting states of the agreement on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases is the full IP address transferred to a Google server in the USA and abbreviated there. The anonymized IP address transferred from your browser within the scope of Google Analytics is not combined with other information from Google.

Below is an overview of the different types of personal data that we may collect and process when you use our website:

Your IP address
Technical details about the device you use to access the website
Your geographic location
What web pages you have visited

Google will use this information to compile reports about the website activities and to provide services connected with the website usage. This serves to safeguard our legitimate interests, which are predominant within the scope of a balancing of interests, in the optimum marketing of our website. Google may also transfer this information to third parties if required insofar as this is prescribed by law or insofar as third parties are processing this information on behalf of Google.

Based on this agreement between the USA and the European Commission, the latter has recently determined that companies certified under the Privacy Shield have an appropriate level of data protection.

You can deactivate the DoubleClick Cookie via this link. In addition, you can also learn more about cookies settings and how to adjust relevant settings at the Digital Advertising Alliance. Finally, you can set you browser in such a way that you are informed about cookie settings and able to decide separately about whether to accept or reject cookies in specific cases or in general. Use of Google (Universal) Analytics for web analytics
This website uses Google (Universal) Analytics for website analytics, this being a web analytics service provided by Google LLC (www.google.com). This serves to safeguard our legitimate interests, which are predominant within the scope of a balancing of interests, in the optimized representation of our range. Google (Universal) Analytics uses methods which facilitate an analysis of your use of the website, for example, via Cookies. The information automatically collected regarding your use of this website is generally transferred to a Google server in the USA and saved there. The activation of the IP anonymization on this website thereby abbreviates the IP, before the transfer, within the member states of the European Union or in other contracting states of the agreement on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases is the full IP address transferred to a Google server in the USA and abbreviated there. The anonymized IP address transferred from your browser within the scope of Google Analytics is generally not combined with other information from Google.

You can prevent the capture of information collected by the cookie and related to your use of the website (incl. your IP address) by Google as well as Google’s processing of this data by downloading and installing the browser plugin available at the following link: http://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de

Use of Google Adwords Conversion Tracking
We use the online advertising program “Google AdWords” and, in connection with this, Conversion Tracking. Google Conversion Tracking is an analytics service from Google Inc. (1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA; “Google”).
If you click on a display operated by Google, a cookie for conversion tracing will be created on your computer. These cookies have limited validity, contain no personal information and thereby cannot aid personal identification. If you visit specific pages of our website and the cookie has still not expired, Google and ourselves can recognize that you have clicked on the display and have been forwarded to this page.
Every Google AdWords client receives a different cookie. This means that there is no possibility for cookies to be followed across the websites of AdWords clients. Data collected with help from the conversion cookie is used to create conversion statistics for AdWords clients who have opted to enable conversion tracking. With this, the clients learn the total number of users who have clicked on their display and have then been forwarded to a page provided with a conversion-tracking tag. They do not, however, contain any information that can be used to personally identify users.
If you do not want to participate in tracking, you can object to this use by preventing the installation of cookies via a corresponding setting in your browser software (deactivation option). You will then not be included in the conversion-tracking statistics. Further information and Google’s data protection declaration can be found at: https://policies.google.com/privacy

Application of Hotjar
On this webpage, data for marketing and optimization purposes is collected and saved using technologies supplied by Hotjar Ltd., Level 2, St Julians Business Centre, 3, Elia Zammit Street, St Julians STJ 1000, Malta, Europe (www.hotjar.com). User profiles can be created under a pseudonym from this information.
The web-tracking tool Hotjar displays randomly selected individual visits (only with anonymized IP addresses). In doing so, a log of mouse movements and clicks is created with the view of playing out individual website visits via random samples and enabling potential improvements for the website.
The data collected through the use of Hotjar technologies are not used to personally identify the user of this website and not combined with personal information about the bearer of the pseudonym, unless the data subject has given their express permission for this to be done.
If you do not want to participate in such logging, you can deactivate this for the browsers you already use via the following link: www.hotjar.com/opt-out

6. Advertising via marketing networks

Google AdWords Remarketing
We use Google Adwords to advertise this website in Google search results and on third-party websites. To do this, when visiting our website, the so-called Remarketing Cookie from Google is applied, which automatically enables interest-based advertisements via a pseudonym CookieID and based on the sites you have visited. This serves to safeguard our legitimate interests, which are predominant within the scope of a balancing of interests, in the optimum marketing of our website.

Any further data processing only takes place insofar as you have granted Google consent for your web and app browser processes to be connected by Google with your Google Account and information from your Google Account to be used for the personalization of the displays you see on the web. If, in this case, you are logged into Google when visiting a page on our website, Google uses your information, together with Google Analytics data, to create and define target group lists for cross-device remarketing. To do this, Google continuously connects your personal information with Google Analytics data in order to form target groups.

Google AdWords Remarketing is a service offered by Google LLC. (www.google.com). Google LLC is headquartered in the USA and is certified under the EU-US Privacy Shield. A current certificate can be viewed here. Based on this agreement between the USA and the European Commission, the latter has recently determined that companies certified under the Privacy Shield have an appropriate level of data protection.

Use of Facebook Custom Audience for web analytics
On this website, technologies from Facebook Inc. These user profiles are used for the analysis of user behavior and are evaluated for the improvement and needs-based design of our range. Cookies can be used for this. These are small text files stored locally on the website visitor’s device and which thus enable recognition upon further visits. The pseudonymized user profiles are not combined with personal information about the bearer of the pseudonym unless consent is specifically granted for this.

If you wish to object to the use of Facebook Website Custom Audiences, you can do so at https://www.facebook.com/ads/website_custom_audiences/

Once you have exercised your right to objection, we will no longer process your personal information for those purposes, unless we can prove mandatory reasons worthy of protection for this processing which outweigh your interests, rights and freedoms, of if the processing serves for the assertion, exercise or protection of legal claims.

This does not apply if the processing takes place for the purposes of direct marketing. We will then no longer process your personal information for this purpose.
